The asterisk of a bent shaft is made of high-strength chromic steel. The working surface of teeths is tempered for increase in resistance to attrition in all points of contact with a chain. The asterisk of a bent shaft consists of an asterisk of a chain of the drive, the mechanism of gas distribution and an asterisk of the drive of the oil pump which are united in a uniform element. The shponochny flute used for installation of an asterisk is absent (fig. 2.24).
