6.2.3. Removal of air from the brake system

NOTE
Air needs to be deleted from a hydraulic actuator of brakes every time when tubes of the brake system were disconnected.

If the pipeline of hydraulic system is disconnected from the main cylinder, removal of air needs to be begun with the most distant from the main brake cylinder of the working cylinder and to pass to the following most distant executive cylinder until air is removed from all four cylinders.
If the point of separation is in any place, except the main cylinder, removal of air needs to be begun in a point, the closest to the place of separation and to pass to the following next executive cylinder until air is removed from all four cylinders.
Uncover the union for removal of air and attach a vinyl pipe to the union.
Place other end of a vinyl pipe in the transparent, filled with liquid container.
One person has to press a brake pedal several times and then hold it in the pressed situation.

Fig. 6.9. Weakening of the union for removal of air

The second person has to weaken the union for removal of air, merge liquid and tighten the union, using special adaptation (fig. 6.9).
The inhaling moment – forward wheels: 9,8 N · m.
The inhaling moment – back wheels: 8,8 N · m.
Repeat pumping operation until an exit of air bubbles from a tube does not stop.
Remove air from each knot as it is described above.
After removal of air, check the following:
– action of brakes;
– liquid leak;
– liquid level.
