Replace a steering shaft if necessary.

Check operation of mechanisms of an inclination and longitudinal adjustment of a steering column (fig. 5.13).
Be convinced of smoothness of movement of the lever from situation "is unblocked" in situation "is blocked".
Be convinced of reliable fixing of a steering shaft at installation of the lever in situation "is blocked".
Replace a steering shaft if necessary.
