2.2.2.2. Check

Start the engine.
Increase the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine up to 2500 min.-1 and let's the engine work in this mode about three minutes.
Leave the engine to idle.
Insert the device probe for measurement of concentration of CO/CH in the fulfilled gases into an exhaust pipe on depth not less than 40 cm.
Immediately check instrument readings for measurement of concentration of CO/CH in the fulfilled gases during the operation of the engine idling and/or with a frequency of rotation of bent shaft 2500 mines-1.

NOTE
At measurement of concentration of CO/CH in the fulfilled gases with the increased frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine value of frequency of rotation of the engine has to conform to requirements of the legislation of the country where the car is operated, and can differ from the value given in the description of the procedure of check (2500 min.-1).

If concentration of CO/CH in the fulfilled gases of the engine does not conform to legislative requirements for toxicity of the fulfilled gases, then it is necessary to find out the reason of this discrepancy and to eliminate it. The operations procedure by search of the reason of the increased maintenance of CO/CH in the fulfilled gases is given below.
At normal contents WITH in the fulfilled gases and the increased maintenance of SN (also uneven operation of the engine idling can be observed) make the checks provided below (checks have to be made in that order in which they are listed):
– check system of ignition of the engine (correctness of installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition, a condition of spark plugs: working capacity, gap size between electrodes);
– check the size of gaps in the mechanism of the drive of valves;
– check lack of leaks (in the closed state) via inlet and final valves;
– check a condition of tsilindro-piston group of the engine.
At the lowered contents WITH in the fulfilled gases and the increased maintenance of SN (also uneven operation of the engine idling and instability of instrument readings can be observed at measurement of SN) make the checks provided below (checks have to be made in that order in which they are listed):
– check lack of a suction of air in system of an admission – in system of ventilation of a case of the engine, in connections of an inlet collector, in connections of a receiver, in connections of the block of a butterfly valve, via the idling regulator;
– check lack of a suction of air through thinnesses of connections of hoses of the vacuum amplifier of brakes;
– check serviceability of system of injection of fuel (during the operation of the engine on the grown poor fuel-air mix admissions of ignition (are possible at serviceable system of ignition) that leads to increase in concentration in the fulfilled gases of not burned down hydrocarbons (SN)).
At the increased contents WITH in the fulfilled gases and the increased maintenance of SN (also uneven operation of the engine idling and black smoke from an exhaust pipe can be observed) make the checks provided below (checks have to be made in that order in which they are listed):
– check a condition of the air filter of the engine;
– check serviceability of the regulator of idling;
– check serviceability of system of elements of injection of fuel: regulator of pressure of fuel, sensor of temperature of cooling liquid, electronic control unit of system of injection of fuel, fuel nozzles, sensor of provision of a butterfly valve, air consumption sensor.
